The chrome extension fetches phone numbers from the website. These phone numbers are saved in Local storage, without having to fetch these phone numbers repeatedly for sending messages.
The user needs to be logged into our website for sending a text message. For example, when the user clicks on “Login” button in the extension, we open a new tab with the login page. Once the user logs in, the tab is closed automatically so that they can continue with using the chrome extension, fetch phone numbers to send text messages. Keeping the login page active would disturb the users shopping flow.
Redtie Chrome Extension needs browser actions to put icons in the main Google Chrome toolbar, to the right of the address bar and a tool tip.
We need to prompt the users with all available phone numbers on a website. For this, we need to know the current hostname, so that we can fetch the phone numbers and allow the user to send text messages.
